Brighton College say their pupils have broken a record - not a single GCSE exam was failed out of 2,080.
The college said:
• Brighton College is celebrating a record haul of A* grades, with 100% of grades at A*-C
• 2,080 GCSEs sat by pupils with nothing below a grade C
• Over 1,100 A* grades were awarded, a new college record
128 pupils achieved A*/A in every single subject (114 last year), with 38 securing at least 10 A*s each (32 last year).
Headmaster Richard Cairns said in a statement: “As we’ve seen at the Olympics, it’s always nice to be at the top of a table but the really important thing about these results is that nearly every boy and girl achieved something special: B predictions became A grades, and A grades became A*s.
"We are delighted for all of them. I am also immensely proud of our teachers who consistently went the extra mile in support of each and every child.
"That personal care and attention is what really makes Brighton College special.”
In total, grades awarded were as follows:
• A* 1109
• A 785
• B 175
• C 11
• D 0
• E 0
