TWO people were seriously injured in a crash between a car and a van.

The car driver, a 28-year-old man from Haywards Heath, and his passenger, a 25-year-old man from Hassocks, suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital.

It happened on the A281 near Woodmancote at around 6.50pm on Monday.

One man has now left hospital after receiving broken ribs and a punctured lung in the incident but the other man remains in hospital.

The vehicles were travelling in the same direction, and collided near to the junction with Blackstone Lane.

The driver of the van, a 36-year-old man from Hove, was not seriously injured.

Sergeant Carl Knapp appealed for witnesses.
