ARUNDEL Castle and a robin were caught on camera as winter arrived in Sussex with a vengeance.
Sussex experienced its coldest night of the season on Tuesday, with temperatures plummeting to as low as minus 8C in some parts of the county.
The Met Office was expecting a slightly less chilly evening yesterday but warns colder temperatures are likely to return at the weekend.
The colder conditions come as the Local Government Association's annual winter readiness survey shows councils are well prepared for plummeting temperatures with a substantial stock of grit.
Public Health England has warned people to remember that "cold does kill" even in places that are not experiencing the coldest temperatures.
Today marks the beginning of meteorological winter, which lasts until February 1.
