TWO drivers have been taken to hospital after a crash which closed a main road.
The accident happened on the A267 at Mark Cross, a rural village five miles east of Crowborough.
Emergency services were called to the incident involving a blue Toyota Corolla and a black Seat Leon at about 8am today.
The driver of the Toyota – a 38-year-old man from Wadhurst – which was travelling north, was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious injuries.
The driver of the Seat, travelling south, was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.
Police have said a section of the A267 is likely to be closed until about noon and motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.
Anyone who saw what happened should report it online at sussex.police.uk/contact-us/response-to-appeal/, quoting Operation Fairfield.
