TODAY The Argus continues its weekly focus on the 2017 Sussex Super Growth Awards, which recognise the 60 fastest growing businesses in the county.

This is a unique index of the 60 fastest-growing businesses across the region and their success will be celebrated at an awards event at the Amex Stadium on March 7.

It is sponsored by asb law, Lloyds Bank and Kreston Reeves in partnership with The Argus.

Sussex has more than 80,000 businesses employing more than 650,000 people and contributes more than £34 billion to the UK economy.

The awards will celebrate their continued promin- ence.

Hosting the event will be broadcaster and busi- ness consultant Simon Fanshawe.

The fastest-growing company in last year’s Sussex Super Growth Awards was Comms Factory Group, of Worthing, with 311 per cent growth.

Kingscote Rojay in Crawley and Keysource, Horsham, shared the honours in 2015 with an identical growth rate of 135 per cent.

The second company we are focusing on is WoolOvers which is based in Victoria Gardens, Burgess Hill.

Starting in 1989 as a small knitwear specialist, WoolOvers now employs more than 100 people.

It can also boast an impressive 125 per cent turnover growth.

The company is known and loved for quality at affordable prices.

Staff have served more than one million customers across the glbe and the company currently trades via nine separate, international websites – three of which are fully translated – over the phone and from the recently refurbished factory shop.

It attributes its accelerated growth and increased accessibility to its recent over- haul, which has seen what it calls “extensive modernisation”.

New systems throughout have resulted in smooth and efficient operations while new, modern and relevant products have given the portfolio fresh appeal.

A recent extensive rebranding has allowed the previously somewhat sleepy brand to go to market as a rejuvenated, contemporary retailer.

CEO Neil Sansom said: “I am very happy and proud that WoolOvers has been shortlisted for this award.

“It is is a fantastic achievement and a reward for the strategic changes implemented throughout the business.

He said the positive changes have transformed the business from the ground up, paving the way for a heightened customer experience and a cont- inually expanding customer base.

Alongside its recent revamp, WoolOvers says its impressive growth is due to the brand’s unique and advantageous market position.

It developed some of its business through meeting many customers at the various UK equestrian and country shows.

It now has 160 styles that are available in 180 different colours and combinations, All its styles are fully machine washable.Existing beside both knitwear specialists and fashion lifestyle brands, WoolOvers cuts through with its elevated expertise and fantastic, purse-friendly prices.
