I’M a Celebrity Star Lady Colin Campbell is set to stand trial for driving without due car and attention after a three car-crash.

The 67-year-old has pleaded not guilty to the allegations over the pile up on the A27 at Clapham last year and will have to return to court next month.

She and her son Dima, who were travelling with their dog in an Audi, escaped unscathed from the accident. Another Audi and a Ford were also involved.

Neither Campbell, who lives in Castle Goring, Arundel Road, Clapham, near Worthing, nor her solicitors attended the hearing at Brighton Magistrates’ Court yesterday and it continued in their absence.

The case was adjourned until February 23 for trial.

Ambulances and fire crews were called to the crash at around 4.15pm on May 6. Police closed the road and put diversions in place while the wreckage was cleared. No injuries were reported.

A spokesman for Campbell at the time said: “I’m glad to report that she, her son and dog are safe and unscathed.”

Nicknamed Lady C and with the full name Lady Georgia Colin Campbell, she found fame on the reality television show I’m A Celebrity with her cutting put-downs. But she left early on medical grounds.

Formerly known as Georgia Arianna, her current name and title comes from her ill-fated marriage of 1974.

She married Lord Colin Campbell one week after meeting the 27-year-old in New York in 1974.

Her marriage to the younger son of the 11th Duke of Argyll lasted less than a year.

She took out a press notice after the divorce announcing her title should no longer be used.

But she is still referred to by this name on the Castle Goring website and in court records.

She bought the once dilapidated grade I listed castle in 2013 and it has been available for hire as a wedding venue since the summer.

The 18th century building was originally designed by famous architect John Biagio-Rebecca, who was renowned in Sussex for his work.

Last year she spent time filming a programme about her home called Lady C and the Castle.

She was also the subject of an unofficial autobiography by American author Gary Dodds called Lady C: The Lioness Unleashed.
