What is your favourite place in Sussex?

My favourite place in Sussex is Brighton.

I love that there is always loads to do, with live music, interesting exhibitions, lots of creative, open-minded people.

Yet it is small enough that you can get around by cycling or walking and regularly bump into people you know – even if you didn’t want to.

What do you love most about living in Sussex?

I like the fact we have everything so close together.

You can walk on the Downs, swim in the sea and soak up the culture of a vibrant city all in one day.

What advice do you have for your 12-year-old self?

I’d like to tell my 12-year-old self that it really doesn’t matter what other people think of you, as long as you can be proud of yourself and your own actions.

What is your most valued possession?

My most valued possession is a ring that my mum left me.

What is your biggest regret?

I’m not a big fan of regrets; some of my best learning experiences have come from making mistakes.

For example, I know never to go on a human gyroscope again.

What is your biggest fear?

My biggest fear is losing my children; I can’t even imagine what that would feel like.

What is your proudest achievement?

My proudest achievement is continuing to study alongside having children and a career – I’ve now done two degrees and a masters. There’s always more to learn.

Which five people (living or dead) would you invite to your fantasy dinner party?

I’d like to invite the Dalai Lama, Margaret Attwood, David Bowie, Nelson Mandela and the author David Mitchell to a dream dinner party.

They’re all strong, inspirational people who led or do lead interesting lives and I’d like to find out more about what goes on in their heads.
