LECTURERS from the University of Brighton staged a protest in an ongoing row over jobs.
Members of the University and Colleges Union gathered outside the university’s management board meeting yesterday.
Teaching staff are due to walk out on Friday, and on two days next term, in a dispute over redundancies and the downgrading of staff.
The union said it was taking action to defend the jobs, pay and conditions of employment of academic staff and to protect the quality of education on offer.
The lecturers are also supported b y the university’s students union.
Brighton’s ranking in the most recent National Student Satisfaction survey fell 14 places to 90th in the country.
Last month bosses had to apologise to staff after accidentally leaking salary data.
