DAVID STOCKDALE 6
Did not have an awful lot to do back in his home city. Was given a comfortable save by Wood at 0-0 and guessed incorrectly this time when the same player added the crowning penalty.
FIKAYO TOMORI 7
So much good work after being thrown in at the deep end, both when using his pace and athleticism to intervene or when looking calm on the ball. But conceded a penalty in naive fashion.
UWE HUENEMEIER 7
Arguably the pick of the defensive unit. One clearing header from in front of his own posts the moment and he did plenty of good work throughout.
LEWIS DUNK 6
A very mixed afternoon. Outmanoeuvred by Wood for the opening goal and looked to be the man at fault when the same man had a clear chance at 0-0.
LIAM ROSENIOR 6
A generally steady performance although his booking for a foul on Sacko looked fair enough. Mainly confined to defensive duties this time.
ANTHONY KNOCKAERT 6
Disciplined without the ball, which was the case throughout the first half. Came into it more after the break, but chose the wrong option when he had a good chance to equalise.
DALE STEPHENS 6
Nothing spectacular. Ticked things over in midfield with customary composure. Recovered from initially losing possession to help set up Knockaert's opportunity.
BERAM KAYAL 7
The pick of the front six, carrying on where he left off against Derby. Lots of drive from the centre of the park to get himself in good areas. First half cross almost forced an own goal.
JIRI SKALAK 5
Very quiet until replaced by March for the final 20 minutes. Set pieces are usually a key strength, but a first half free-kick into the defensive wall summed up his night.
GLENN MURRAY 6
Thrives on crosses, but there were very few of those throughout the match. Would normally have expected him to take one of the two clear chances he had to equalise.
SAM BALDOCK 6
Ran the channels with typical enthusiasm and flick from Kayal's cross almost led to Taylor putting through his own net. Generally shackled by the Bartley-Cooper combination.
Subs
SOLLY MARCH
Bright cameo ahead of return to England under-21 duty.
CHUBA AKPOM
Loose first pass and no headway thereafter.
OLLIE NORWOOD
Few minutes for Kayal. Will get more for Northern Ireland.
