MORE than 600 hours of volunteering was donated to ten chosen charities in Brighton and Hove at the annual Time 2 Give Spring Ball.

This was an increase of 100 hours from the previous year’s event and means more than 2,100 hours have been donated since the event was first held three years ago.

The ball took place at The Grand in Brighton and was hosted by Guy Lloyd and Sophie Corbett.

The supported charities are Brighton City Partnership for Education, Carousel, Carers Centre, Fareshare, Headway East Sussex, Mindout, Ronald McDonald House, Rhythmix, Survivors’ Network, and Team Domenica.

There was also an auction with a difference in which guests were invited to bid for prizes with their time rather than their money.

Guests who donated time on the night are now having their professional skills matched to the chosen charities’ requirements.

Time 2 Give ambassador Frances Duncan said: “A total of 23 guests volunteered over 600 hours of their time and professional skills – everything from mentoring, finance and fundraising, through to gardening and cooking meals for families whose children are in hospital.”
