Albion owner-chairman Tony Bloom has been feted for setting the tone for the club's success in the Amex era.

Chief executive Paul Barber emailed all staff within hours of Sunday's closing draw at Aston Villa, which denied the Seagulls the title.

He congratulated them for their part in promotion to the Premier League in the sixth season at the Amex, following three failed attempts in the play-offs, and gave special mention to Bloom.

Barber said: "Tony's vision, combined with his unwavering commitment, financial support, humbleness and genuine love for this football club has provided all of us with the opportunity to work and compete at the highest level next season and, in so doing, to fulfil the hopes and dreams of so many tens of thousands of people.

"Tony has set the tone for everything we have done since moving to the Amex and I know I speak for everyone connected to our club when I say how delighted I am for Tony and his entire family."
