NOMINATIONS will soon be closing for the Youth in Action Awards.

Monday will be the last day to out forward your suggestions for the fourth annual honours.

The awards celebrate the successes of young people and their leaders in schools and youth groups in Sussex.

The awards ceremony will be held at The American Express Community Stadium at Falmer on Sunday, July 2.

Dozens of nominations have already come through from parents, teachers and community groups recognising the remarkable achievements across our county.

But we need more, so do not delay in making yours. Once nominations close, judges will draw up a shortlist and nominees will be sent invitations to the event.

The Argus editor Arron Hendy said: “The Youth in Action Awards 2017 will be a great chance to celebrate achievements of young people and their leaders in schools and youth groups across Sussex.

“Every week in The Argus our readers hear about the fantastic achievements of young people like this who inspire others and have helped their communities.

“We encourage all schools, sports teams and youth groups in Sussex to send in nominations and help us recognise and celebrate their achievements.”

This year the event is being sponsored by the British Airways i360 and its charity partner Trust for Developing Communities, which improves lives through working with communities in Brighton and Hove.

The awards will aim to match the roaring success of last year’s event at the home of Brighton and Hove Albion, where hundreds of children, teachers and youth group leaders gathered to celebrate young peoples’ achievements.
