Georgie Morrell is a London based comedian, writer and actress. Her debut stand-up show, A Poke in the Eye, is at Brighton Fringe from May 24 to 26.

What is your favourite place in Sussex?

The seaside. I love being by the sea. I find it so therapeutic and would love one day to live by the beach. As great as London is it doesn’t compare to having the sea on your doorstep.

What do you love most about Sussex?

I’m not originally from Sussex but spent a lot of time down here as child. I have some really fond memories of going down with my parents and brother. They took us to Sealife in Brighton when I was really little and I bought a seal-badge with my name on it. It’s weird memories like that I really hold on to and treasure.

What advice do you have for your 12-year-old self?

Don’t over pluck your eyebrows and don’t smoke.

What is your most valued possession?

That is really hard because I have so many. Probably my teddy bear Scruffy. He is a messy, tired looking bear who my brother used to do horrible things to. Scruffy and my brother feature a lot in my sets and comedy shows. That bear has many stories to tell.

What is your biggest regret?

I regret worrying too much about what I looked like when I was younger. I was far too vain and it was a waste of time. It won’t matter when you get older and it’s more important to have substance, brains and a sense of humour. Thankfully I have all these things.

What is your biggest fear?

Losing a member of my family. I know, a bit dark but it’s truly what I fear the most. I am incredibly dependent on them and would feel very lost without their presence.

What is your proudest achievement?

Putting on my first full-length comedy show. I put everything on the line – my joke writing, comedy skills and money. It was a big risk but the best decision I ever made.

Which five people (living or dead) would you invite to your fantasy dinner party?

Graham Norton for the banter, David Gandy for obvious reason. He is gorgeous. Lenny Kravitz – for the same reason – Greg Davies and my best mate Drew.
