STRICTLY Come Dancing stars Louise Redknapp and Will Young are coming to Brighton for a new production of hit musical Cabaret.

The pair, who appeared in the BBC show last year, will play leading singer Sally Bowles and the flamboyant Emcee.

The production will be Redknapp’s stage debut after she made the final of Strictly.

Young has appeared on stage before, including in a previous production of Cabaret when he also played Emcee.

It will be at the Theatre Royal Brighton from November 5 to 9 with dates also in Blackpool ( October 2 to 7), Cardiff (October 17 to 21), Leeds (October 24 to 28), Milton Keynes (October 31 to November 4), Salford (November 7 to 11 ), Edinburgh (November 14 to 18 ) and Bromley (November 21 to 25 ).

Ms Redknapp, 42 said dancing had given her a new lease of life. She said: “I wouldn’t give up my time away from the limelight for all the money in the world. But it is hard when you’re married to someone with a very successful career, and you have children, to have everything.

“Something has to give somewhere, and I think it was me that gave. You get comfortable and you stop chasing the dream a little bit. Going back and doing Strictly made me realise my desire is still the same. I just love being on the stage.”

The production turns Berlin of 1931 into a sassy, sizzling haven of decadence. At its dark heart is the legendary and notorious Emcee, who performs nightly at the infamous Kit Kat Klub.

It features some of the best-known songs in musical theatre, including Money Makes The World Go Round, Two Ladies and Cabaret.

Young had been tipped as one of the favourites for Strictly last year. However, he controversially left the show in the early stages, citing personal reasons. Speaking after, he said: “It was important for me to leave Strictly for my own wellbeing.

“It was a number of things. It was nothing to do with the people on the show, and it certainly wasn’t because Len Goodman dissed my salsa – I mean, come on. I love dance and because of the stuff that was going on personally, I just wasn’t enjoying the dancing.”
