Prosecutors will open their case against a man accused of killing two women, five years apart.
Robert Trigg, 52, is accused of murdering his 52-year-old girlfriend Susan Nicholson at a property in Rowlands Road, Worthing, on April 17 2011.
Unemployed Trigg is also charged with the manslaughter of Caroline Devlin, 35, who was found dead in bed in Cranworth Road, Worthing, on March 26 2006.
Trigg, of Park Crescent, Worthing, entered not guilty pleas to the charges at the Old Bailey in May. A jury panel was sworn in on Monday at Lewes Crown Court.
Prosecutor Duncan Atkinson QC will open the Crown's case on Tuesday in front of the trial judge, Mrs Justice Simler.
