THERE is still time to take part in today’s charity Beachy Head Lighthouse walk.
More than 700 walkers have pre-registered but people can still turn up at the start and take part.
The walk from Eastbourne seafront to Beachy Head Lighthouse is only possible when a low spring tide occurs at the right time and during daylight hours.
Organiser Martin Wellings said: “We expect around 300 people to turn up on the day and register.
“The weather forecast for Saturday afternoon is very promising.”
The starting point is at the kiosk at the foot of the Downs by St Bede’s school along Eastbourne seafront between 4pm and 5.15pm.
Entrants will set off across the Downs to Cow Gap and then go down the steps to the beach and over the rocks, boulders, sand and seaweed to the lighthouse.
