A RARE beetle has been seen in Sussex for the first time in almost 100 years.
The six-spotted pot beetle was seen at Flatropers Wood in Rye recently by reserve manager Alice Parfitt.
She posted her finding on the Sussex Wildlife Trust website.
Peter Hodge, the county’s recorder for beetles, confirmed it was the first time on record since the 1920s. It was last seen in Hollington and Horsham.
