FIREFIGHTERS rescued a woman who was trapped under a carousel on Brighton seafront.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called to King's Road Arches just before 5.30pm after receiving the report.
Two crews of firefighters attended the scene after Brighton and Hove City Council lifeguards opened the gates onto the beachside promenade.
Paramedics were also present.
It is understood the woman was trying to climb onto one of the carousel's horses and lost her footing, falling into the gap in the centre of the fairground ride.
Firefighters are said to have helped her up and put her on a stretcher for her to receive treatment by paramedics but South East Coast Ambulance has so far been unable to confirm this.
The carousel is now running again.
