NEIGHBOURS shared a £3million prize pot after winning the postcode lottery.

People’s Postcode Lottery players in the BN3 5 area in Hove gathered at Hove Lawns on Saturday to receive their cheques at a special ceremony.

One lucky player, who played with the full winning postcode, BN3 5QF, won a whopping £257,387.

Three other players won £32,778, 19 neighbours walked away with £21,852 and 203 winners were ecstatic with their £10,926 cheques.

TV presenter and Postcode Lottery ambassador Jeff Brazier handed out the cheques.

Construction worker Adrian Bradley, 49, said that his £10,926 win was a dream come true.

He said: “I’ve been saving for a trip to Australia and Japan for years so this has well and truly sealed the deal. It’ll be the trip of a lifetime.

“I don’t know if any of my neighbours on the street play but now I’ll be telling them all to make sure they sign up. It’s an incredible feeling that’s great to share with the people you live beside.”

British Airways cabin crew Daniel Reynolds, 38, discovered he was a winner whilst he was working in Los Angeles.

He said: “My husband, Niall, sent me a message between my flights. It’s been a really exciting week.

“It’s Niall’s 40th birthday next month and we have just celebrated our first wedding anniversary. We are heading to Versailles on holiday and this win means we can treat ourselves to a really special tour. We also have our sights set on getting another puppy.”

Husband Niall Taylor, 39, a business manager for Gulf said: “I’m a big believer in fate. We had a new boiler installed this week and we discovered the cupboard had money spiders in it - perhaps it was a sign.”

Amanda Norgate, 58, a school administrator said the win couldn’t have come at a better time for her and her family.

She said: “My husband hasn’t been working lately so this money has come at a really good time for us. We’ll finally be able to take our family on a holiday to Turkey and I’m sure we’ll be able to come up with a plan for the rest.

“It’s been a rollercoaster couple of weeks waiting to find out exactly how much we’ve won and I still can’t believe it.

“It’s been such an experience coming to the event today with all my neighbours and getting to share it with everyone. Everyone’s going home with such a difference made to their lives.”

Councillor Robert Nemeth, for Wish Ward, said: “I heard from several close friends over a week ago that they had won a minimum of £3,000. We found out today that the figure is several times that.

"I’m delighted for all of the winners but, in particular, for community volunteers on the Ingram Estate in my ward who really deserve it in my mind.”

The charity lottery support more than 2,800 good causes.

A minimum of 30 per cent goes to charity and players have raised more than £212.8 million.
