MORE than £1,000 worth of crystal meth has been seized in a police raid.

Police made the seizure as part of a series of raids in Brighton and Hove, which has led to five arrests.

Around £1,000 worth of the drug was seized during a raid on shipping container site in Cobblers Thumb in New England Road, Brighton on Thursday August 3.

Hundreds of items used to make and use crystal meth were also found. While chemicals and substances were found at an address in Pullman Haul, New England Street, Brighton, during another warrant.

On Monday officers raided an address in Denis Hobden Close, Brighton, and found crystal meth, GBL and cannabis. A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A, B and C drugs and has been released under investigation.

A total of five man have been arrested in relation to crystal meth.

Detective Inspector Julie Wakeford said: "Crystal meth seems to have recently become more widely available in the city and we would urge any anyone who has information about the supply of this particularly harmful drug to contact us."
