VISITORS to a rugby club’s 50th anniversary fete had a smashing time over the weekend with a piano bashing contest one of the highlights.

Uckfield Rugby Club’s 50th Anniversary fete was held over the Bank Holiday weekend with hundreds turning up at Luxford Field.

There was also a celebration game on Sunday at the club’s ground at Hempstead Fields.

Among the highlights were BMX stunt displays, a freestyle football demonstration and a tug of war competition.

There was also a beer tent and barbeque to keep guest well fed and watered on what was one of the hottest days of the year.

On Sunday the Tigers parachute display team dropped in to deliver the match ball ahead of the celebration game between Uckfield Rugby Club and a Sussex XV side.
