A SCHOOL is in with a chance of winning £25,000.

Hove Park School is bidding for the cash from insurance firm One Family to pay for an outdoor gym for its students.

The proposed gym at the Hangleton Way campus will be used during PE lessons, lunch times and after school, and it is hoped it will encourage youngsters to get active.

But the school needs your votes to win the cash.

Parent Elizabeth Maddison said: “As a parent of two Hove Park pupils, I know how much impact this project will have. As a parent of two teenagers, I know that organised sports participation often falls off in these years, just when it most critical for physical and mental wellbeing.

“The school really needs this – its facilities generally lag behind others in the city, while it educates the most diverse population of any local school. I see this project as a brilliant physical centrepiece for the school, to sit alongside its digital and pastoral excellence. Please add your vote – change a life for current and future pupils.”

The school is currently in second place. Voting closes on September 6.
