A YACHT has run aground on Hove beach.
The skipper of the vessel notified the coastguard his engine had failed and the boat was drifting towards the beach.
He dropped the anchor but strong winds blew the boat onto the beach.
The 19-foot sailing boat with one person on board ended up on the shingle at around 2.20pm.
Shoreham coastguard officers were sent to the scene and Sussex Police were notified.
The skipper plans to refloat the yacht at the next high tide at 00.30am on Thursday.
