AN experienced walker who police feared had become lost on the Downs has been found.
Michael Wood, 67, had been out walking with his wife between Steyning and Pyecombe yesterday.
When his wife got near to the Plough Inn at Pyecombe at about 5.30pm she found Mr Wood had not kept up with her and she couldn't find him.
He was last seen as the South Downs Way crosses the A23.
The couple are visiting Sussex from Canada and Mr Wood does not know the area.
Police issued an appeal to trace Mr Wood after he was reported missing.
However he called police around 8.35am today after seeing news coverage and is now safe and well.
