Tomer Hemed has vowed to come back better than ever – after being banned for three matches.

The devastated Seagulls striker is facing a five-week lay-off after being found guilty of violent conduct.

He will retain match fitness by playing for Israel during the forthcoming international break, notably against Spain.

Hemed then potentially returns to club action against Southampton on October 29.

Albion boss Chris Hughton is plotting a Plan B in attack for Sunday’s trip to Arsenal with Glenn Murray still troubled by an ankle injury.

Hemed revealed he accepted but could not agree with the FA verdict following an incident with Newcastle defender DeAndre Yedlin which officials, thousands of fans and most of the media missed during Sunday’s 1-0 Albion win.

He will miss games against Arsenal, Everton and West Ham after his decision to contest the charge failed.

In a message released via social media, the Israel striker wrote: “I accept the decision against me but do not agree with it and I am devastated to miss three matches.

“I would never go out to injure a fellow professional on purpose, and those of my friends and team-mates who know me, know that this is not in my nature.

“I will use the time to get fitter, stronger and come back hungrier to score more goals for Brighton in the Premier League.”

Israel face Spain and Liechtenstein in the next international period and Hemed will be desperate to feature.

He is expected to start against the Spanish although rotations against Liechtenstein are more possible.
