Boss Chris Hughton had no complaints about the opening goal or Albion's performance in the 2-0 defeat at Arsenal.

Several players protested the ball had gone out of play from a free-kick before Nacho Monreal drove the Gunners into a 16th minute lead at the Emirates.

Alex Iwobi completed a routine win for Arsene Wenger's side (below) early in the second half.

The Argus: Hughton said: "When you come here you know it's going to be a difficult afternoon. They've got such good quality, you have to make decisions on how you want to set your team up.

"It's very difficult to be very expanise here, particularly for a team like we are that has just got promoted.

"There were positives. Concentration levels have to be for 90 minutes with what they've got. We probably just needed to make more of some of the areas we got into, at times when we broke."

Hughton said of the first goal: "From the one view that I've just seen I think it (the ball) was inside, so no complaints."

Albion will go into the international break in 14th or 15th, depending on the result of next visitors Everton at home to Burnley this afternoon.

Arsenal are now level on points with Chelsea and a point below Spurs. Wenger said: "We kept a clean sheet and got the points. Offensively we were not assertive enough."
