A CASUALTY had to be taken away on a stretcher by paramedics after a crash involving a motorcycle and a car.

The collision took place at around 7.45am today at the Aquarium roundabout between Madeira Drive and the A259 in Brighton.

An ambulance and police cars arrived at the scene of the crash to divert traffic.

A police spokesman said: "The man on the bike was complaining he had hurt his leg.

"There was a single lane closure on the A259 eastbound by Brighton Palace Pier."

A guest staying at the Royal Albion Hotel on the seafront said: "I heard a bang outside while I was eating my breakfast in the hotel.

"I went outside and could see a bike and a car by the roundabout.
