TWO men are accused of stealing £25,000 worth of jewels in a raid on a family-run shop.
Richard Sutton, of Lincoln Parade, Portslade, and Jody Keating, of no fixed address, are accused of breaking in to Jewelworks, in Montague Street, Worthing, and snatching the jewels on Sunday.
Sutton, 42, who is also known by the nickname Mr Beefy, and Keating, 43, appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
They were both remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on November 6.
The shop’s owner James Frost told The Argus he did not wish to comment on the burglary.
The business describes itself as “long established”.
As well as selling and customising jewells and wedding bands it buys scrap gold.
