A WOMAN was verbally abused with transphobic and homophobic language by another woman while travelling on a train.
Officers from British Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for help identifying the woman who launched the verbal attack on the other woman, who is in her 50s.
Both women were travelling on board the 4.52am service from Victoria to Brighton on September 6.
The incident took place between 5.45am and 6.25am near Gatwick Airport railway station.
There was a small altercation between the two women following the abuse.
There are currently no CCTV images able to be released by BTP.
The suspect is described as slim, in her late 20s, with long brown hair.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who knows someone matching that description.
Anyone with information can call BTP on 0800 405040 or text 61016 using reference 66 of 06/09/2017.
Alternatively, details can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
