A MAN who died, after the car he was travelling in crashed into the back of a lorry, has been named. 

Anghelus-Adi Pieptea, 25, from Wakehurst Drive, Southgate, Crawley, died at the A23 Warninglid, when the Nissan Micra he was travelling in ploughed into a lorry parked in a lay-by.

Mr was the front seat passenger at the time of the crash at around 1.40am on Saturday December 16. 

The collision occured some 600 metres north of the road's junction with Broxmead Lane and witnesses are being sought to establish what happened. 

A 22-year-old woman from Kenley, Surrey, in the rear of the car suffered serious facial injuries. She remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Sergeant Alan Spicer said: "Our thoughts are with Anghelus-Adi's friends and family at this time.

"Anyone who saw what happened or noticed the Nissan being driven shortly before the crash is asked to contact police online quoting Operation Cranbourne."
