A BUS driver had to be cut from their vehicle after crashing with a car last night.
The crash happened at around 7.55pm in Trafalgar Road, Portslade.
The front bumper of the Brighton and Hove bus was shattered and left hanging off from the smash.
A spokesman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters had to use "hydraulic rescue equipment" to release the driver from the bus.
The Argus is not yet aware if the driver is a man or a woman.
An eyewitness saw glass shattered across the road, and a barrier dismounted from the pavement.
He also said there was a windscreen on the ground.
"I don't know who was at fault," the man said.
"There was lots of glass everywhere, and a couple of ambulances and paramedic cars.
"Someone must have been quite badly injured."
The Argus is awaiting a comment from Sussex Police.
