Chris Hughton has urged Albion to keep on making progress after claiming a Premier League first.
Hughton beat the likes of Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino to the Barclays manager of the month award for February.
He has landed the equivalent Championship prize a record nine times, three of them with the Seagulls.
It is the first time he has been recognised in the Premier League with three clubs, following spells in charge of Newcastle and Norwich City.
The accolade is a reward for convincing back-to-back home wins over West Ham and Swansea, divided by a draw at Stoke.
Hughton has also steered Albion through to an FA Cup quarter-final at Manchester United next Saturday and they are tenth in the table after a seven-match unbeaten run.
They will rise to ninth if they win at Everton today, as Watford are not in action at Arsenal until tomorrow lunchtime.
Hughton, looking ahead to the nine matches remaining, said: “It’s just to continue to make progress.
“Ultimately it’s to stay in this division and that’s certainly not being negative.
“We would take whatever we need to make sure that we stay in this division.
“We’re having good momentum at the moment and as long as we can continue to make progress, we will be happy.
“We’re thankful to a lot of people, but of course it’s the players that get the results.
“They’ve enjoyed being in this division so far and are desperate to make sure that we stay there.”
