POLICE say there is "concern for someone" at Brighton Marina.
The lifeboat was launched at 9.40am to assist officers, an the Coastguard said the incident was a police matter.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said there is "concern for someone" at the marina, and that the incident is "ongoing at the moment".
The force later told The Argus the situation had been dealt with.
A spokesman said police were called at 9.24am over concerns for a man's welfare.
The 27-year-old was sitting close to the water's edge.
When officers arrived, they spoke to the man, who co-operated, and took him to a relative's address.
