The RSPCA is trying to trace a man who kicked a seagull, causing injuries from which it later died.
Witnesses said the man was walking down the street when the gull swooped to grab his food.
He was then seen kicking the bird twice.
The RSPCA has now released these images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.
It happened at about 12.45pm on Friday, March 2, in Terminus Road, Eastbourne.
The injured gull died shortly after as a result of its injuries.
The police and the RSPCA were informed and the investigation is now being led by the charity.
RSPCA inspector Alison Edwards said: “This is an unacceptable way to treat a wild animal.
“We’d like to speak to anyone who recognises this man or who saw what happened to the gull.
“They can contact the RSPCA inspectorate appeal line in confidence on 0300 123 8018.”
