Four people were hospitalised after a multi-vehicle crash.
Three cars crashed on the A27 just before the Shoreham flyover slip at around 6pm yesterday.
Police, West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, and ambulance were called to the scene.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said: "We were called by ambulance at 6.08pm where three cars were involved in a crash. We went our crew from Shoreham, Worthing and Hove.
"One person was trapped inside a car."
A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb) said: "We were called to reports of a traffic collision involving three cars just after 6pm at Shoreham bypass.
"We sent three ambulances and two cars and treated two patients with back and neck pain.
"We took four patients to Worthing Hospital for assessment, and treatment for back and neck pain. No one sustained serious injuries."
