A CAFE serving only cereal is to open in Brighton, a first for the city.

Brighton Cereal Cafe will serve imported cereal in single bowls as well as Pop-Tarts, coffee and handmade chocolate Rice Krispie cakes in the basement of Cafe Trafé in Trafalgar Street.

Friends Oskar Deroca and Kostya Petrov will launch their venture on June 1.

Oskar said: “We will reimagine how you enjoy your cereal, stocking hundreds of cereals combinations, 12 varieties of milks and 20 toppings.

“We let you, the customer, tailor a bowl to your exact taste.

“We also have lots of flavours of Pop-Tarts and we make custom cakes based on our favourite products cereal and you might see a doughnut or two.

“We also have our own take on Rice Krispie cakes.

“We have an extensive range of milks, that allows us to cater to vegans, vegetarians and also provide lactose free substitutes.

“They will also be available in a wide range of flavours – custard, mint, chocolate, banana, strawberry, vanilla, maple, coffee, vanilla cake mix and marshmallow.

“We’ll be stocking everything from Lucky Charms, Kellogg’s strawberry pops to Special K and even Weetabix and protein Cheerios meaning we don’t just cater to your sweet tooth, but also provide a healthier option for people of different lifestyles.”

Brighton Cereal Café will be the first of its kind to appear in the city, after the success of the unrelated Cereal Killer cafe in Shoreditch, which drew headlines last year for the price of its offerings and its hipster chic.

Brighton’s cafe will serve regular or large bowls at £2.80 or £3.80, with toppings including blended Skittles and Bourbon biscuits for an extra 50p.

Inside customers will have pens and pads to doodle and draw with, the best of which will be pinned on the cafe’s noticeboard.

Cereal cocktails will include Smore Smore Smore – Golden Grahams with mini marshmallows in chocolate milk.
