POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a crash left a cyclist needing to be airlifted to hospital.
Officers were called to the crash at 5.20pm on Saturday, May 5 at the traffic lights in Langney Road and Susans Road in Eastbourne.
A 48-year-old cyclist suffered serious head injuries, and was flown by air ambulance paramedics to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
Meanwhile a 40-year-old woman, who lives in the area, was driving a white Kia Cee’d which was involved in the collision. She was unhurt.
Police say that anyone who saw what happened, or noticed the car or cyclist before the crash, should call 101 and quote Operation Console.
