LEAP has expanded and now provides free business support and advice to all residents and businesses in the Lewes district.

Lewes District Council has invested more into its Local Enterprise & Apprenticeship Programme which was launched in 2013 to help entrepreneurs set up their own businesses but has now expanded to be able to provide free business support and advice to all businesses and residents to develop and grow their ideas and enterprises.

Councillor Andy Smith, Leader of Lewes District Council, said: “It is a priority for Lewes District Council to support and grow entrepreneurs and businesses.

“If you have a business idea but are not sure how to develop it or are looking to grow your enterprise it can seem very daunting and a bit of a minefield.

“The great thing about the LEAP team is that they are able to listen and talk to you about your idea and ambitions and make sure you get the right business advice.”

The programme, which is delivered by Edeal on behalf of the council, also runs a series of start-up business workshops with the next one planned for Monday June 11 in Newhaven. Others will be held on August 2 (Lewes), October 9 (Seaford) and December 6 (Newhaven).

Start-up businesses can also enter the LEAP Entrepreneur Programme with the chance to win £2,500 to help set up a business.

Applications for 2019 open in October.

Other LEAP services include one to one advice with an expert on all matters relating to starting and running a business and social media training.
