ACCORDING to Southern Fail, sorry, Rail, there isn’t enough demand at Preston Park Station to justify the previous number of trains stopping there at peak hours.

Well that’s news to the thousands of commuters, including many in my ward, who have been using the station every week for many years to get to work.

Since the introduction of the new timetable, the number of trains calling at Preston Park has been drastically reduced.

Commuters from Preston Park, already ground down by the months of delays, cancellations and disruption, have been forced to add extra time to their working day travelling to and from Brighton Station, adding to pressures experienced there.

Posts on the Preston Park train campaign Facebook group suggest that Southern has used flawed methodology to quantify the number of regular users.

Southern should get their act together and sort this out now, so let’s start putting the pressure on. Email comments@southernrailway.com.
