POLICE have issued a fresh appeal for information over a fire that killed a mother and her son.

Gina Ingles, 34, and her four-year-old son Milo Ingles-Bailey died when their house in Croxden Way, Eastbourne, was torched in the early hours of July 10.

Post-mortem examinations revealed they died from smoke inhalation.

Miss Ingles’s partner Toby Jarrett, 26, escaped but remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Two men aged 47 and 23 were arrested on suspicion of two counts of murder and one of attempted murder, and were released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Gordon Denslow, of the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said: “While four weeks have passed since this tragic incident, we continue in our efforts to establish who is responsible for this horrendous act, and why. I know the events of that night are still fresh in the minds of the community, who have understandably been hugely affected by it.

“I am urging anyone with information to report it or to call 101, quoting Operation Druffield.”
