THE Seahaven Para Games will be back in Seaford this weekend.

There will be new age kurling, short mat bowls, adapted tennis, wheelchair slalom and many more games for those with needs and disabilities.

The event is free to all adults and takes place on Sunday from 10.30am until 3pm at Downs Leisure Centre.

There will be a variety of sports and activities on offer throughout the day.

Sports will be provided by qualified staff who will adapt the sessions to the participants’ needs.

By popular demand this year, The Para Games will host Qui Gong as well as an exercise to music session.

Support will be offered to participants after the event to find local sports clubs to develop their skills and interests.

Formed in 2006, Wave manages eight leisure facilities and Newhaven Fort along with providing a vast range of activity programmes and outreach initiatives.

Wave is working with partners Rotary Club of Seaford, Sussex Housing Trust for the Elderly, Friends of Searchlight, CTLA and Sainsbury’s to provide the event.

It aims to give participants the chance to get out and enjoy a day of fun and activities with other local people.

David Wright, sports and activities development co-ordinator at Wave, said: “We’d love to see as many people here as possible, we have a free lunch and loads of activities to try out.

“You can make new friends and come back each year”
