ONE of the nation’s biggest talent shows is coming to Brighton in the search for new stars.

Britain’s Got Talent is on the hunt for the country’s most talented individuals or groups for the next series.

A team from the hit ITV show will be at the Latest Music Bar in Manchester Street on Sunday, August 26.

If you have a talent you think will impress, this will be the perfect chance to show what you have got.

Successful acts will then be in with a chance of securing a place at one of the judges’ auditions in 2019.

The show is open to any performer of any age, with any talent – all you need is a skill and star quality.

Anything goes on BGT, from magicians to comedians, drag acts to singers and acrobats to animal stars.

Executive producer Charlie Irwin urged Sussex’s starstruck types to take part.

She said: “Britain’s Got Talent 2018 was a fantastic year for talent, full of variety with, for the first time ever, a comedian winning the show.

“Now, we can’t wait to see what talent you are ready to bring to the BGT stage.

“Anyone can apply – there is no age limit and we are looking for all kinds of talents so, if you feel you have something special to show us, no matter what it is, then make sure you apply, you never know where it might take you.”

This year Newcastle comedian Lee Ridley, also known as Lost Voice Guy, took home the BGT crown.

Brighton has had a taste of success on the show.

Last year the dance troupe TapTastik sailed through to the live semi-final shows and, despite not winning, they went down well with the crowd and the British public.

Brighton fan favourite Lorraine Bowen also made it through to the live semi-finals. The singer comedian wowed judge David Walliams enough to get his golden buzzer – the sign of approval – despite being rejected by the other three judges.

There have also been some dud performers from the city. Vince Venus, alter-ego of DJ and TV personality Guy Lloyd, became the contestant to be buzzed off fastest by all four judges, lasting just two seconds.

Angi Mariani, of Latest, said the venue was delighted to host the auditions for the second year running. She said: “Brighton has more than enough talent to furnish the show with a lot of superstars. Whether they’re all extrovert enough to go on it is yet to be seen.”

The auditions will run from noon to 6pm. The next season of the show will be in the spring, although an exact date has not been confirmed.
