How sad I was to read about Colin Crookes' halloween without the kids (Letters, November 2).
I had many little children and teenagers come to my door. They were all very polite and they looked so lovely in their costumes.
I have just lost my husband but they made my night. Every one of them were with their parents.
I also had my tortoise out to see them and they loved him.
Some had not seen one and some wanted to take him home. We had such lovely children and parents no elderly people should be afraid to open their door on halloween.
