A 17-year-old was robbed of his mobile phone while out skateboarding with friends.

The attack happened at the Meridian Industrial Estate in Peacehaven.

Two boys aged about 15 or 16 approached the victim swigging from a can of lager.

Each was carrying half a pool cue.

They asked to see his mobile phone, then when he gave it to them they would not give it back to him.

He grabbed the pool cue, but was threatened by the youths.

He ran off towards Meridian Leisure Centre. As he escaped the suspects hit him on the back of the legs with the pool cue.

The suspects were last seen running towards Greenwich Way.

Both were described as white and about 5ft 5in tall.

One was large, with short black hair, wearing dark jeans, smart black shoes and a green coat.

The other was medium build, with short spiky black hair, wearing black shoes and a dark padded jacket.

The robbery happened at 7.45pm on Friday December 14.

Sergeant Robin Fuller of Sussex Police said: "The offenders were seen prior to the attack in the Meridian Centre talking to youths.

"They also went into the Co-op to buy some cigarettes where they were caught on CCTV.

"We will be endeavouring to identify the two youths at the earliest opportunity. If anyone witnessed the incident we would like to hear from them."
