This was the Kaiser Chiefs' last gig of 2007, according to frontman Ricky Wilson, and it had the feel of an end-of-term school disco.
As a result, the band - and the crowd - were on top form. It really didn't feel like a Sunday night.
They were led by the energetic Wilson who jumped across the stage, climbed on everything and anything and, at one point, ran into the crowd.
And there was plenty to sing along to. The Kaisers performed all the hits from their first album Employment and second offering Your's Truly, Angry Mob.
They kicked off with a rousing Everything Is Average Nowadays, although it was the songs from the first album which provoked most of the excitement from the crowd.
Everyday I Love You Less And Less and Modern Way went down particularly well.
Wilson was even vying for attention after he pulled a schoolboy from the crowd to dance along next to him on the stage.
After jumping back into the crowd, the teenager, Ben, was soon back again, this time with a microphone, leading the crowd in a singalong with Na Na Na Na Naa.
Watched by Norman "Fatboy Slim" Cook, they finished with The Angry Mob and the brilliantly addictive Oh My God.
