MEET this week's four-legged friends who are all looking for their forever homes.
If you are considering bringing a new pet into your home, adopting a dog from a rescue centre will give them them a second chance at having a happy life.
All of these tail-waggers are currently in the care of RSPCA Sussex, Brighton & East Grinstead. More information about the dogs and how they can be adopted can be found on their website.
Poppy
Breed: Labrador
Age: 11 years
Poppy came in on October 22 as her previous owners could no longer look after her.
She is a very friendly, affectionate girl who knows sit, paw and her name on command, is housetrained, travels well and enjoys being groomed.
She does not act her age and although she usually walks nicely she can be strong on the lead when she wants to go somewhere.
Poppy is good with other dogs and enjoys their company on walks. She has not been tested with cats yet.
She is looking for a home where she will not be left on her own for too long as she is not used to this. She could live with children eight years or older who are used to dogs.

Ava
Breed: Lurcher
Age: Four
Ava has been put up for a new home as she was not getting on with the visiting grandchildren.
She is a friendly girl who can be very shy to begin with, especially with men.
Ava knows sit, down and her name on command, is housetrained and good when groomed. She enjoys her walks and is well behaved on the lead.
Ava is okay with other dogs but will need a home without cats or small animals.
She is worried around children so needs an adult only home with no visiting children either.

Kato
Breed: Schnauzer
Age: Three
Kato's previous owner was no longer able to give him the care he needed.
He is a friendly, lively boy who has a lot of energy and can be quite strong on the lead.
Kato knows sit and his name on command, is housetrained, okay when groomed and loves to play with toys, especially a ball.
He is food obsessed and would eat until he bursts so his new owner will need to manage this carefully.
Kato is friendly with some other dogs but would benefit from further socialisation.
He may be able to live with a female dog in his new home but could not live with another male. He also needs a home without cats or small animals.
Kato is looking for an experienced owner prepared to put time into his training and will need a garden.
He needs a home without young children.

Willow
Breed: Jack Russell
Age: Six
Willow came to the RSPCA as her owner was no longer able to look after her.
She is a sweet, affectionate girl who can be a little shy at first. Willow knows sit and her name on command, walks well on the lead and is housetrained.
She can be a bit worried with handling so needs a calm, gentle approach. Due to this she is looking for a quiet, adult only, experienced home.
Willow is okay with other dogs but prefers calm ones. She would prefer to be the only pet in the home.
Willow gets very attached to her family and would like a home where she is rarely left on her own.
She has pancreatitis so any new owner will need to be prepared to keep her on the low fat diet that she is currently being fed at the shelter.

Polly
Breed: Pug
Age: Four
Polly came to the RSPCA from an unsuitable home.
She is a very active, friendly girl who knows sit and her name on command but would benefit from further training.
Polly likes her toys and enjoys fuss and attention. She is not 100% housetrained but is starting to become cleaner in kennels so her new owner will need to work on this.
Polly is good with other dogs and has lived with other dogs in her previous home. She could live with children 12 years or older.
Polly is waiting to have an operation to widen her airways as she struggles having too much exercise at the moment.
