If sections of our beaches have to be closed due to the timber from the sunken Ice Prince (The Argus, January 26), the solution is quite simple. Calculate the cost of privately hiring these sections of beach, for however many days or weeks, and send the bill to the shipping company or their insurers.
Then return the money to all of us who temporarily lost our beach in the form of a council tax rebate.
