Firefighters were called to tackle a blaze which started in the garage of a bungalow.
Fire engines from Brighton and Roedean attended the blaze in Green Way, Ovingdean, Brighton, at 9.55pm yesterday.
They extinguished the flames at 11.45pm and nobody was injured.
Firefighters, who do not know what started the fire, fitted a smoke alarm in the property before they left.
