In reply to Mr (suited and booted) Paul Carter (Letters, January 25), who says dogs should not be allowed on buses. He states that dogs are smelly, spilling hair and germs on him, that dogs are out to get him, or savage someone just because they are on a bus. He says that dogs add to his dry-cleaning bills, and he sits trying to avoid any contact with them.
What a snobbish attitude. I wish to inform him that dogs are allowed on buses in London (at the driver's discretion).
Not everyone drives and it can be difficult (especially for the elderly) to get their animals to vets, or to take them out. Most dogs on buses are with responsible owners and are well behaved.
Mr Carter's attitude is worse than any dog - they wouldn't be so rude.
