Firefighters rescued a woman from her flat after a blaze broke out.
The woman, who has not been named, was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and treated for smoke inhalation and burns.
Fire crews arrived at the flats in Winterbourne Lane, Lewes, at about 10.20pm yesterday and worked for nearly two hours to extinguish the blaze.
The fire is thought to have started in the lounge area.
A fire investigation team remained at the scene today to look at possible causes.
